Three Month Twin Update!

Where has the time gone?

The twin babies are a little over three months old now. I have to be honest, month two was HARD. I mean so hard that it made me want to run away from life.

At first I felt ashamed. “How can I feel so miserable when I’m so blessed?”27657381_10103326578556770_2458561099769854742_nI like to think of myself as a spiritual person and I knew that God gave me these babies for a reason. I just didn’t feel like I was worthy or capable of being a great mom to three.

“How was I going to divide my attention and love into three for them?”27971885_10103329976612040_4971429300675574455_nHarrison was also having some acid reflux issues. At first we didn’t know what was going on; he would just cry and cry for hours on end. But after a couple of doctor’s visit, it was ruled that he had acid reflux.28056769_10103329954576200_465738938058024088_nHe’s been taking Zantac as well as Mommy’s Bliss probiotics. Let me tell you it has done wonders. He is just the sweetest and happiest little boy now. ❤28166406_10103329954860630_4562871698156404806_nThey say the moment your kids are born you just feel love and it comes naturally. That totally didn’t happen for me. I felt like I had failed as a mom, as it took time for me to find joy in the chaos.

Being waken up every 1.5-2hrs every night for almost two months WRECKS complete havok on the mind and body. 28055971_10103329954815720_3608371551165790933_nAt the start of month three and I am in LOVE.

They are smiling more, sleeping more and starting to “talk.” Harry is weighing 10.5lbs while Ally is a little under 10lbs. Harrison wakes up twice in the night, but Ally can sleep 6-8hrs straight before waking up. It has been A-MAZING!27972557_10103329955110130_3474306872964429096_nSammy can even interact more with them now as they are more alert.

She’ll play music for them, read stories next to them or show them her toys. They even will all sit still to watch a movie… well enough time for me to cook dinner or do the dishes. Trolls and Finding Dory are their current favorite. 28058699_10103329955209930_3064867345125820290_nThe twins have started teething in the past couple of weeks so that has brought another challenge but they are now at the point where they can handle a bit of Tylenol and enjoy teethers. Harry loves this corn one that was given to us at our mini baby sprinkle.

Ally had a terrible cough last week and I was glad that she could take this Zarbee’s cough syrup. I actually got the wrong one by mistake but I do like that these are pre-portioned and I can keep them in the diaper bag.28055848_10103329955165020_6151993848019771388_nShe’s all better now.27857805_10103329976307650_4470509916835566543_n
Although every day is not perfect, I’m learning to balance everything out.  From what I hear it takes six months to really adjust to twin mom life… I believe it.27867590_10103329954915520_7901076750974953172_nIf anyone tells you a toddler and newborn twins are easy… they are either delusional or a celebrity. 😉

Friday Favs #7: Grove Collaborative + New Household Favorites!

Hello blog world! 🙂

In my last post, I shared some of our current products for our twins. If you haven’t checked that one out, click here.

Today I’ll be sharing with you my first Grove Collaborative order and some new favorite cleaning and household products of mine.20180109_143617 - CopyWhat is Grove Collaborative? It’s a website that has a bunch of awesome natural and non-toxic products for your family and home. 20180109_112736When you place your first order, you get a free gift plus free shipping (a 60 day trial) with a minimum $20 purchase.

The free gift varies, but for my order I received 3 Mrs. Meyers products (the Basil scent), walnut scrubbers and a bamboo prep board.20180109_113233I’ve bought the Seventh Generation wipes before and love them!

Out of the new products, I’ve only tried the Mrs. Meyers all purpose cleaner. The basil scent smells absolutely fresh… like spring and has no “basil” aroma at all. 20180108_085604Bonus points for being safe for my kiddies. 20180108_161633I’m waiting for my Honest Company dish soap in lavender to run out first before I open up the Basil Mrs. Meyers one.IMG_20171231_165222_912Next product on the list is Seventh Generation disinfectant spray in eucalyptus, spearmint and time from Target. 20180111_083435I tell you… this season between all five of us, at least two have been sick at the same time. I started disinfecting everything in the house and used this spray.

I love that it has a pleasant scent and doesn’t just smell like chemicals. So far we’ve been feeling way better in the Gendron household.

Speaking of disinfecting, I recently found this Purell Naturals hand sanitizer at Target as well. 20180105_155912I like to have the Babyganics hand sanitizer handy at the diaper changing table for us, but this works just as well to keep our hands nice and clean.

Not to mention it’s cheaper. 😉

That wraps up this edition of Friday favorites. Definitely give any of these products a try if you haven’t already. I wouldn’t share something with y’all if I didn’t absolutely love it!

Thanks to Life in Leggings for hosting this favorites shin-dig!

Current Baby Favorites [Twins One Month Old]

Good morning y’all.

We’ve reach the one month mark with the twins!25152394_10103263227363070_5991542190137973480_nIt seems as if it’s been way more than three months… but that’s what happens with kids.

Time flies. ❤

Today, I’m swinging by to share with you some of my current favorite products that we’ve been using for our twin babies this past month.

Babyganics Eczema Cream20171204_141525I came across this cream on sale during the summer for under $4.00. I took the chance since Sammy had baby eczema when she was born and I figured one of two might [since it runs in the family and if anything its cream].

Alexandra is the only one with it and this cream has been fantastic at keeping her eczema at bay. I notice a difference in her skin if I don’t use it for a day or two. I highly recommend it if you have any little ones with eczema.

Honest Company Apricot Lotion20171203_105609Harrison on the other hand has very dry skin. This lotion (I’ve reviewed before), I’m not too particular on the smell but it does work wonders for his skin. I also use it for myself or Sammy, especially now during the winter season.

Mommy’s Bliss Gripe Water25158324_10103263227313170_2590627264689166997_nSpeaking of Harrison, he has has been extremely colicky since coming home. We were using some gas drops on him (like we did with Samantha), but they didn’t do much.

As a last resort, we turned to gripe water, which is mostly fennel and ginger. It seemed to work almost instantly for him and he has been so much better.

Just an FYI, baby must be at least two weeks old, but we gave it to Harrison at almost four weeks of age to be safe.

Boon Grass Countertop Drying20171130_142121I had a basic drying rack for when Sammy was using bottles.

However, once I babysat a little boy who’s mom had this “grass” drying rack, I knew I had to get it. You can fit so many more bottles and such compared to the other I had. This rack is the actually smaller size, but it’s perfect enough.

Grab Green Dishwashing Pods20171130_141707For those moments when I don’t feel like washing all the baby things by hand (like every other day), I found these dish pods.

You get 24 pods for under $7.00, which is a steal. Plus, they clean very well and are free of phosphates and dyes!

Dapple Pure ‘N’ Clean Everything Wipes
20171130_141737_001Lastly, I’ve been using these wipes to clean our kitchen table, Sammy’s eating chair, her toys and anything else she will get her hands on.

I normally use this multi-purpose spray, but I had a $2.00 off coupon for dapple. It comes with 75 wipes and is also free of dyes and “yucky” stuff, which is great for the kiddies.

It’s been a crazy adventure so far with the twins home (they were in the NICU for the first two weeks) and having a toddler.25152399_10103263227512770_9001783999303221680_nNevertheless, our home is filled with tons of love. ❤

Welcome to the World Harrison & Alexandra!

Good morning friends!

Mama went into labor last week at 35 weeks and we now welcome the twins, Harrison and Alexandra! They were born on Sunday, November 12th. 20171114_114210Harrison came at 3:28pm at 5lbs, 4oz and Alexandra arrived at 3:33pm at 5lbs, 11oz.

Both are still at the hospital in the special care nursery but are doing great! Working on getting all food by mouth (and not needing a feeding tube).Harrison and Alexandra November182017-31It’s so hard to imagine to TWO babies were inside of mama this whole time. We are over the moon in love with our new editions.Harrison and Alexandra November182017-32Birth story to come.

Halloween Recap + Twin Prep!

Happy November friends!20171104_135336It’s been a week or so since I posted – I just have not been feeling too great on top of a million appointments for the twins.

Work had a Halloween party a couple of weeks ago that I was able to take Sammy too. After pre-term labor, I wasn’t sure what we would be able to do for Halloween.

Still pregnant 😉

We also were able to go to the library for an “Adopt A Kitten” party. They had Halloween crafts, treats and of course kittens! 20171028_105554I still wasn’t sure if Sammy was going to get to go Trick or Treating.

The twins managed to hang on and Sammy was able to get some treats on her first Trick or Treating adventure! 23130589_10103216787468990_5154106919493751389_nShe was a fairy princess this year thanks to my mom. ❤

So as it gets closer to the twins coming, I’m trying to get a little better on meal prepping and doing some last minute “thangs.”

Something as simple as putting a serving of cereal in a container + the fixings makes it super easy in the morning. For cereal I do Special K Original or Red Berries with pumpkin seeds and hemp seeds.meal prepFor the oatmeal, it’s just a plain instant oatmeal packet + chia seeds, 1/2 tsp vanilla extract, pumpkin seeds mixed with water. In the morning, I’ll add frozen berries and a bit of peanut butter after I heat it up.

I’ve even whipped up some “toddler” muffins for Sammy to have a quick breakfast/ snack on hand. 20171105_133359 #ToddlerApproved 😛23031403_10103216787798330_7280472273085227599_nI was able to finish up the baby corner decor now that these letters came in from Michael’s.23130769_10103216787763400_4214589896345462251_nI spent some time yesterday sprucing up the house and disinfecting since Sammy and the husband are sick.20171105_090501 I made some “blankets” with a piece of fabric for Sammy’s dollhouse beds. She loves the ones from the library [since they have blankets].23131647_10103216787733460_7510339298492420508_n.jpgA little glue [gun] goes a long way!

That about wraps up what’s been going on in the last couple of weeks. Be sure to follow me on Instagram for weekly randomness of Fit Coffee Mom. ❤

TOL #15: Nesting, Toddler Learning & More!

After my Preterm Labor scare, my mood has not been the greatest; mostly due to pain.

I’ve been able to get around the house better over the past few days and not need as much help. I’ve been in a ton of pain but it’s more on and off versus constant from almost a week ago.

Not being able to move much does allows me to crack down on learning/ structured activity time with Sammy. 22730048_10103208240582020_7401522389758979835_nWe’ve been working on letters using this laptop, magnetic letters and stickers!

As I mentioned before, I am super thankful that the library is a few minutes away. Saturday they had a “paint-a-pumpkin” event and Sammy had fun getting messy with some paint! 22688610_10103206110331060_1724585902745613814_nBetter messy somewhere else then at home. 😉

A few weeks ago, I rearranged our bedroom to make room for the twins. Still working on the wall decor since I’m waiting for these letters to come.

We decided we’ll be using pack and plays as opposed to cribs. 22815636_10103207770314440_2512595421112388318_nSammy only lasted 18 months in a crib, plus we don’t really have the space for two cribs. Once they are ready, we’ll switch them to toddler beds with crib rails.22814210_10103207770239590_5978492626034277431_nI moved the bookshelf out of Sammy’s room for us to have a diaper/ baby station. It was also moved because her “gift” from her siblings is going to be this dollhouse and I wanted her to have plenty of room for it.22788642_10103207908253010_2175402390418805393_n (1)For now, she has her Little People dollhouse with some Trolls and furniture to play with til we give her the other one.22688842_10103208235412380_1775036951061394033_nI also rearranged her play are too. I’ve been testing out different variations throughout the week to see which she seems to “like” the most. 22789133_10103207908158200_5493926332812258431_nThis arrangement so far is the winner…

Well, that wraps up this edition of thinking out LOUD! If you haven’t already, check out Amanda over a Running With Spoons for all the details.Thinking-Out-Loud

TOL #14: PTL, Coffee, Toddler Fun & More!

Hello friends!

I’m dropping by to share some things on my mind.

For those who don’t follow me on Instagram, this mama went into Preterm labor (PTL) on Friday morning. Of course it just HAD to be Friday the 13th.

I went from 0 to 3.5cm dilated within 10 hours.

Once I hit 2cm, I was transferred to another hospital because my hospital only deals with preemies that are 32+ weeks and I was only 31 weeks pregnant. I was in the hospital for over 48 hours and was given a couple of different medications to stop contractions. hospitalfoodThey were able to stop labor, which was fantastic and I was sent home on partial bed rest.

The next day I had an appointment with my high risk doctor and my regular Obstetrician. Both said the babies are doing well and measuring almost 4lbs a piece. With the steroid injection they gave me for their lungs, babies should be okay if I were to deliver early.31 weeksMy OB said it would be a miracle if I made it to 35 weeks, so it’s all a waiting game.

However, I’ve been is so much more pain since Friday which has made things difficult, especially caring for the toddler. SambutterflyI am so thankful to have my family who has helped us during this whole time; between watching our daughter, getting us groceries and just being there if needed.

I’m so glad I picked up a box of Green Mountain pumpkin spice K-cups a couple of weeks ago. Hot coffee is a definite must during the Fall and Winter. 22406051_10103193580920100_6933838994826272983_nI also picked up more of these Late July peanut butter crackers that Sammy loves.22049800_10103182410979750_6086182310672712345_nThey have been great to use as a “snacky” lunch since I don’t have much energy to make something “fancy and hot” every day for us.

FYI… if you send the company an email requesting coupons, they will send you some! #moneysavingmomhack

The library has been one of our favorites as well. library playBeing almost 32 weeks pregnant with twins makes it difficult to chase a toddler around. The library is contained and Sammy loves playing with the doll house. libraryWe purchased one for her as her “present” from her siblings using Toys R’ Us giftcards from her birthday. We ended up getting one by Kidcraft.

I liked that it was similar to the one at the library and is of good quality. Plus all the kiddies will be able to enjoy it at some point.

I’m linking up with Amanda over at Running With Spoons for thinking out LOUD Thursday. Thinking-Out-LoudHope everyone is having a wonderful week and cross your fingers that I AT LEAST make it to 34 weeks. #wishfulthinking ❤
